Last week we ran another UnConference for lawyers — this time in Bristol. Great turnout, loads of energy, and the discussions were buzzing.
Never been to an UnConference? There’s no set agenda. Attendees decide on the day what they want to talk about, and sessions build from there. It’s a brilliant way to share ideas, challenge thinking, and learn from people you’d never normally sit in a room with.
All levels welcome
That’s the beauty of it. You’ve got well-seasoned professionals who’ve been in the game for years, sat alongside people who are just trying to break into the sector. Everyone has something to offer and everyone takes something different away.
What did people want to talk about?
Some of the usual suspects came up — AML, case management systems, risk assessments, training. The bread and butter of compliance.
But there’s a noticeable shift. New topics are pushing through. AI and what it means for the profession. The implications of Mazur. Ethics — not as a box-ticking exercise but as a real, live conversation. And the perennial challenge of getting buy-in from the wider business when compliance still feels like someone else’s problem.
Come along next time
Not been to one yet? Honestly, you’re missing out. The next one is in Birmingham on 24 June 2026. No pressure, no presentations, just honest conversations with people who get it.
Come along to the next one!
